About Us
Blue EmOcean Moyo
Somewhere between the ocean and the jungle, lies a small resort that feels like a home. Six rooms, an attentive team, and everything you need to explore Moyo on one of Indonesia's hidden island gems.
We are here to make your stay easy and your days full. Whether that means diving into a pristine reef, hiking to a hidden waterfall, or doing nothing at all with a view of the ocean, the team at Blue EmOcean will take care of the details. Special requests are welcome. A private dinner on the beach, a barbecue under the stars, a dive plan built around your wishlist. If we can make it happen, we will.
This is not a place that will impress you with scale. It will impress you by the beauty of the wilderness that lies right outside its door.
Our Philosophy
A place where responsible travel and genuine comfort could exist in the same space. Six rooms. A dive center. A kitchen that follows the seasons. And a team that believes the best way to share this island is to protect it at the same time.

A Guest in Nature,
Not a Consumer of It
Moyo Island is a protected area, coming here is a privilege. From how we power the resort to what ends up on your plate, comes back to the same question: What is the lightest way to do this well?

A Cozy Retreat
at the Edge of the Jungle
Remote does not mean roughing it. Comfortable rooms, air conditioning, hot showers, and good food are waiting. The quiet here is real, the sky at night is uninterrupted, and the reef is steps from your door.

A Base for Exploration
and Adventure
The resort is where you rest and eat well. The island is where the experience happens. Coral reefs, jungle trails, hidden waterfalls and island excursion are all within reach. We are here to help you find them.

An Eco-lodge
Sustainable by Design
Energy and Water
Solar panels provide around 60% of the resort's electricity. Our water comes from an on-site well. And drinking water purified from our filters to reduce use of plastic bottles.
Food and the Kitchen
Our kitchen sources seasonal vegetables and fresh fruit from the island, and fish caught locally in the waters around Moyo. When something cannot be sourced locally, a network of suppliers from Indonesia fills the gap.
Community Based
Our team comes from Moyo Island and the wider Sumbawa region and we support local projects. Their knowledge, their genuine connection to this place shape everything about the way we work.
Our Commitments
We are fortunate to operate in one of the most biodiverse corners of the planet, and do our best to protect it. These are the partnerships and programs we are actively involved in, working to keep Moyo Island's waters, wildlife, and communities healthy and thriving.
Pokmaswas Angel Reef
Pokmaswas Angel Reef is a community-based marine conservation and surveillance group rooted in Labuhan Aji village, right here on Moyo Island. The group monitors surrounding waters to protect them from illegal and destructive fishing, carries out coral reef restoration work, and manages eco-conscious tourism around local dive sites.
Blue EmOcean supports Pokmaswas through fundraising, scuba diving training, and equipment.
Healthy reefs benefit everyone, and the people best placed to protect them are the ones who have always lived alongside them.
Biosphere Foundation
The Biosphere Foundation is a US-based conservation organisation operating the sailing vessel Mir, a 113-foot classic sailing ship that voyages the Coral Triangle running marine conservation and community stewardship programs across remote islands in Southeast Asia.
Together with the Biosphere Foundation, we work on coral reef restoration and mangrove conservation projects in the waters around Moyo Island. Their belief that hands-on, community-based involvement is the only meaningful path to conservation is one we share entirely.

Sea Turtle Nest Conservation
Moyo Island's beaches are nesting grounds for hawksbill sea turtles, and keeping them that way requires active care. Working alongside the local community, we help secure and relocate turtle nests. Eggs laid in vulnerable zones are carefully relocated to secure hatcheries where they have the best chance of survival. The turtles were here long before us. Our job is to make sure they still are long after
